Losing Our Collective Memory

I guess losing actors, actresses, politicians, musicians, and friends is an undeniable part of aging.  But to lose what passed for popular culture in my life is like losing our collective memory.  Of course some things need to be ditched and not carried forward by the next generation -- like racism, misogyny, white supremacy, mass shootings and bad movies.
