Late Summer Haiku (2009)

Two crows riding high
Hot wind rising on the plain
Smell the dust blowing.

Blue sky turning gray
Silent dreams in cat napping
Rake the leaves away.

Hot air without thought
The swine speaks words of wisdom
Give us daily crumbs.

Wilting in the morning sun
The flower succumbs
Beauty flees before my steps.

Sun is going down
The cranky raven complains
Night mounts the new moon.

Jay loudly scolding
Sun drifts low on the skyline
Bones dry in the wind.
