The times we live in have been deeply troubling. My husband and I regularly follow the news and politics of the day and it's deeply depressing. In addition, we often don't agree on the solutions and we have fractious arguments about the politics of the day. But one thing we can agree on is how to find relaxation and relief from these troubling times - go on a cruise!
So off we went to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on April 2nd. We were scheduled to embark on the
MS Westerdam for a Caribbean cruise April 4th but first we spent two days exploring the
Everglades and
Big Cypress parks and
Miami Beach before boarding our ship.
From quiet natural scenes...
...to the colorful neon and Latin culture of South Miami Beach.
We boarded our ship at 1:00PM on Saturday, April 4th Our friends from Maine, Sharon and Bob were joining us on the cruise.

Approaching Grand Turk island |
I went snorkeling at Grand Turk and took my so-called waterproof camera with me. That's why you see no more pictures of Grand Turk nor of San Juan, Puerto Rico where we docked the next day, But here are pictures of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands after I bought a new camera in port.
